Clothing and Equipment Checklist

Dirty clothes are washed once a week. Our laundry service takes three days, so clothes for 10 days are needed. Any clothing that needs dry cleaning or hand washing should be so labeled and your child told. We have no uniform, but comfort and style are urged. On wet, chilly days, only sufficient protection enables comfort. sweatshirts are not as warm as fleece or wool. Your child will need a warm fleece or wool sweater. An old winter jacket comes in handy. Wet sneakers dry very slowly; we urge one pair of rain boots or waterproofed hiking boots for rainy days.

Mark everything and you will get it back. Please label hats, shoes, sleeping bags, and mitts, as well as things that go in the laundry. A laundry marking pen or permanent marker usually lasts one season. Put names (not just initials) in an obvious place such as the corner, neck, or waist. Stamped names blur illegibly after several times through the washer, and iron-on tapes wash off.

Check your luggage at the end of the summer. If your child is missing something important, please call us right away. We store named articles and pass them back the next summer. Unnamed articles are given away.

* For those flying in from a great distance, we offer to rent starred items for the season. ($25 for camping equipment, $45 for linens and blankets.)
