Stay Involved with Killooleet
Our Challenge
It's easy to forget that today's camper-aged children were in early elementary grades when COVID hit in 2020. Like many camps and schools, Killooleet is wrestling with the post-COVID paradox: children need the chance to make connections, build social skills, and develop their independence, at the same time that many families are finding it more difficult to part with them-- especially for 7 weeks. As alumni and parents of campers, you know better than anyone what Killooleet can provide: personal growth and independence, the opportunity to discover who you are while building life-long friendships and interests, and learning how to build a supportive community that makes this possible for everyone.
We need campers. Camp is at its best when all of the cabins are full. We need your help sharing the value of Killooleet, and the growth that comes with a full summer in the community. Most families today are more comfortable committing to a shorter summer to start with - and that is OK! First-time campers of any age can enroll for four weeks, with the option to stay. As campers and parents find out for themselves what the Killooleet experience means to them, they choose to stay longer and return in future summers.
How you can help!
Please tell your friends about Killooleet! Word of mouth continues to be the main way we attract new campers. We would love you to share your personal stories and experiences with people you know and on social media, parent forums, school message boards etc., to help us to find new campers.
For every camper you refer to Killooleet that enrolls for the summer, we will give you a $200 discount on your tuition or a $100 gift card to the Killooleet store if you don’t have a child enrolled in the coming summer. Just ask the family of the new camper to mention that you referred them when they sign up.
Feel free to share this document about who we are with potential new families!

Leave us a Review
We would love to hear about your time at camp and what Killooleet means to you and your children. Online reviews are playing an increasing role in how families chose camp, so taking a few minutes will help us tremendously.

Donate to Killooleet Scholarship Funds
Many of our campers are on scholarship and Killooleet is committed to maintaining all types of diversity, including financial diversity. The American Camp Association (ACA) and the Seeger Bartlett Fund (SBF) are two places that we get scholarships for campers. Killooleet partners with ACA’s Camp Scholarship Program, which is designed to make camp affordable for more children, including those attending private independent summer camps. Checks written to the ACA Camp Scholarship Program with Killooleet on the memo line can be mailed to the address below. Donations (even through donor-advised funds) made to the ACA scholarship fund but directed to Killooleet will still be tax deductible even though we are a for-profit business.

SBF donations are also tax deductible. For both organizations, Killooleet applies for scholarship funds for specific campers and uses their grants for tuition assistance only. We have worked with both for many years. This summer, SBF provided many essential scholarships to Killooleet campers. You can donate to SBF by mailing a check to SBF, PO Box 1, Hancock, VT or going to their website. No amount is too small!
