Calling

Meal times are the best time to call your child, These are at 9am, 2pm and 7pm EST. On hike days (Wednesdays) and during overnighters, your child may be off campus.

Remember that others are also trying to call, so keep your calls short.

FAQs

Does my child have to commit to a full summer?

No. New campers can sign up for 4 weeks with the option to stay if they choose. The vast majority of the time they will want to!

Where do the campers come from?

Around 50% of our campers are from the metropolitan New York City area, with another 30% coming from Boston & New England. The rest come from all over the United States. In 2019 we also had campers from China, Thailand, England, Switzerland and Iceland!

Do you have medical facilities on site?

We have an infirmary on campus run by a team of registered nurses. We have a doctor on call who is available through a local medical practice.

Most of our staff take a Wilderness First Aid course each summer.

Where do you find your staff?

We hire a diverse staff. Our campers benefit from the knowledge and experience of staff with different ages and backgrounds. Our team is made up of former campers, international and American staff. Our youngest counselors have finished their first year of college, and our oldest are teachers. We interview everyone, follow up with references, and run criminal record background checks.
